Prohunt Zambia offers four main types of hunts:
Cat Hunts |
These are either 14 day Leopard, 21 day Lion or
24 day Lion/Leopard hunts. These hunts incur the Government Classic Area Fee but in addition to the cats, the client may hunt Sable and Roan. Usually these hunts will begin with the client hunting a Hippo or Zebra to use as bait for the cats. Then he will check baits daily and hunt for his other priorities in between. Usually one can expect action after about 4 or 5 days of having put up baits and can then start considering blinds, etc. |
Sable/Plains Game
Safari |
In this category the client is charged a reduced Government Classic Area Fee which enables him to hunt
12 days and shoot up to ten plains game species including a Sable. The Sable quality in the concession is very good. |
Sitatunga/Plains Game
Safari |
This hunt is for 10 days and the client can hunt the elusive Sitatunga as well as six other plains game species. Sitatunga hunting usually entails spending a night or two in a spike camp near one of the several swamps found throughout the concession. The spike camps are comfortable and fun and well worth the effort to hunt this sought after specie.
(Note: our average Sitatunga has been 28 inches.) |
Plains Game Safari |
A Plains Game safari, which is for 7 days allows the client to hunt a maximum of seven species,
including Crocodile and Hippo. The client also has the option of procuring an extra plains game area fee and hunting an additional seven animal species and staying another 7 days. |
Optional Swamp Species
Safari |
All of the above hunts above offer a side trip to Kafue Flats and
Bangweulu added onto them to hunt the Kafue and Black Lechwe.
Additional transfer fees apply (see below). |
